Sabercats return to field with confidence, expectations

Castle Rock, CO

A year ago at this time, Castle View Football was not on the radar for anyone outside of Castle Rock. Going into the 2019 season however, CV has become the team nobody wants to play.

Led by the 2018 Coach of The Year (Mile High Sports, South Metro League and Colorado Preps), Todd Casebier returns for his second year at Castle View ready for the challenge.

“Expectations are high. We expect to take another step as a program and show we can be a consistent member of the playoffs and a top tier 5 A program”, stated Casebier.

CV will play in the most dominant conference in the state which saw 4 teams make it to the second round of the 2018 5A playoffs last season. CV enters the season as a young and talented team. Casebier continued, “while this team doesn’t have great size, it’s the fastest team I have coached.” This says a lot as Casebier has coached some of the most prolific running teams over the the past two decades in Colorado.

The rushing attack will be led by Senior, Jordan Jackson, the bruising Running Back who amassed over a thousand yards last year and found the end zone 15 times.  Opponents will have their hands full with the returning senior weighing in over 210 lbs.  Jackson is surrounded by a stable of fast and capable Running Backs and athletic blockers that will make CV a very interesting team to watch.

Casebier concluded, “we need our new starters to take advantage of this opportunity.  Overall, we have quality depth but as always, need to stay healthy”.

The Sabercats will open the season against Fossil Ridge at home in Castle Rock on Thursday, August 29th at “The Rock” at DCS Stadium.
