CV Offense Roars, Improves to 5-2

Highlands Ranch, CO

The Castle View Sabercats (5-2) couldn’t wait to get back on the field after suffering a set-back loss last Friday in Castle Rock.  CV absolutely dominated the first half against Mountain Vista and improved to 5-2 on the year and 1-1 in league play.

“I’m excited about how our offense is clicking.  Our run game has set us up to really begin throwing the ball around the field”, stated Josh Mullenix.  The senior QB was very productive and efficient on the night, striking the end zone two times with two different receivers, while connecting with 5 other receivers for large gains throughout the night.

The offensive attack was balanced as well and featured five different players striking pay dirt including a two TD plus 2 point conversion night by Running Back, Cole Oster.  The senior stated, “our line was dominant and made it easy for us to pick up big chunks of yards”.

Also scoring for the first time this year was Senior Fullback Grant Mullnow.  The Senior stated, “It felt great to get into the end zone.  But what feels better than that is the fact that our team is having success.  I love playing football with this group of guys.”

“We have concentrated on improving every single week. We can’t get caught up too much with this 5th win as we feel like we have a lot of work still to do”, stated Senior offensive lineman, Julian Probsdorfer.

The win, Castle View’s 5th of the year is the most wins the program has ever had since joining 5A.  “Any road game is big for us.  We played playoff football for a half, but I feel like we got complacent in the 2nd half.  We will learn from it and improve this week”, stated Head Coach, Todd Casebier.

Senior Andrew Grout was excited about the win. “We like our progress but know we know we need to continue to improve.  We will work hard this week and prepare for a really good team next Friday”.

Co-Captain Cole Oster acknowledged, “this was a huge bounce back week and game for us but we have not arrived yet. 5 wins is great, but not our end goal.  We feel like we still need to prove ourselves every week and earn respect in the state.”

The Sabercats will have the opportunity to do this as a very good Highlands Ranch team will visit Castle Rock next Friday night.
