CV’s Punishing Rush Attack Positions Sabercats for Playoff Run

Castle Rock, CO

The Castle View Sabercats finished non-league play tonight with a convincing victory over the 15th ranked Legend Titans.  Junior Jordan Jackson had 5 TD’s in the win.  “We had a great week of practice and expected to play well. Our line was unbelievable again tonight and we played 4 quarters of tough football”, stated the bruiser Running Back.

“We are starting to come into our own.  We are gaining the confidence that we need in order to believe we can win games,” stated Senior Connor Kelly.  The co-captain returned to action after being sidelined in week two with an ankle injury.

The Offensive Line was dominant in the game allowing Running Backs Cole Oster (135 yds) , Jordan Jackson (119 yds)  and Sophomore, Zane Wodark to have very productive nights.  “We are believing in each other and our coaches”, stated Offensive and Defensive Lineman, Mark Krymis.  “Coach Casebier is helping us to believe that we can win and perform”.

The Defense played inspired football in the 2nd half of the game.  Defensive Coordinator Eric Handke stated, “we began executing as the game  progressed.  As they settled in, we began to contain their run.”  When asked what the limits of the team were, the coach acknowledged, “our kids are buying in and I feel good about where we are at.  We have a tough league, so we need to continue to make improvements every week”.

First year CV Coach Todd Casebier remains undefeated at DCS Stadium.  “This is a team win.  That’s the best we’ve played so far.  We got a great effort from both sides of the ball plus special teams…and it couldn’t be a better time as we start league play next week.”

When asked the limit of this team, Casebier was quick to point out that “4 wins doesn’t get you into the playoffs.  We are happy with the non-league performance, but a whole new season starts now.”

Castle View will face top ranked Valor at home next Friday.
