Sabercat Headed for Navy Next year

Castle Rock, CO

Mark Kyrimis has been playing football for the past 8 years.  As the standout right tackle for a the #5 rushing team in the state, Kyrimis is focused on getting his team to the playoffs and making a post-season run during his last year playing football.

Next year, Mark will be joining the Navy to become an underwater Welder.  He hopes to continue improving every practice and game and his goal is have his team play as “a brotherhood and win together” down the stretch.

Kyrimis credits the new coaching staff for “instilling a whole new mindset and constantly looking for ways to improve”.  He continued, “When it comes to football, he is all business and there is no messing around.  He is tough, but he is fair.”

“He is big and strong and has made steady improvements all year.  He works hard in the weight room and I love his personality.  He enjoys the game and his teammates”, stated Head Coach, Todd Casebier.

The soon to be Sailor will stay busy all year as he also plays Rugby, Wrestles and throws for Track.  Sports and Football in particular has offered Mark “camaraderie as well as discipline”.  These are two things that this student-athlete acknowledged his gratefulness for.

Kyrimis was quick to point out people in his life who have inspired and helped him along the way.  “Both my parents have been there for every step of the way for my whole football career and I consider them my mentors.” Mark is the middle child (older sister, Samantha and younger sister, Peighton) and has grown up in Castle Rock.  His parents are Mark and Stacey.

“The other person with whom I would consider a mentor is Coach Casebier.  He is always pushing me to be the best that I can be.”

The enthusiastic Sabercat concluded with the following statement.  “I'm excited to see what we can do as a team this late into the season and I'm looking forward to playoffs.”

It is easy to see why the Sabercats are having success as Mark Kyrimis is another example of a player who is making positive impact.
