Bryson Verry Reflects On Football Lessons

Cornerback and Kick Returner, Bryson Verry is wrapping up his 13th Football season (2 flag/11 tackle)  and is still focusing on improving every single play.  “My goal is to play all four quarters and play lights-out every play”, stated the returning starter.  He is also interested in helping his team achieve goals which include, “winning playoff games and playing together as a team”.

Football has been a large portion of Bryson’s life and cited a number of things for which is thankful that the sport has taught him.  “One of the things I am most thankful for is how it has taught me to treat and respect people."  Verry continued, "Football has also taught me how to win and how to lose. It has shown me that when you get knocked down you have to get back up and do better, hit harder, run faster, make better decisions.”

The standout Defensive Back has been an important part of the success of the playoff bound Castle View team down the stretch producing big plays at big moments in big games.

The Senior plans on attending college to pursue a degree in entrepreneurship as he intends to open his own or manage a business.

Verry acknowledged his older brother, Levi, and the influence he has had in his life.  “Even though we don’t always see eye to eye,  he has helped me through some of the most difficult times in life when I have been knocked down and he picked me back up and pushed me to do better”.

Bryson has lived in Castle Rock since he was 5, with his Dad, (Jason) Mom (Tracy) and Brother (Levi).  Levi is a former CV Football player and past recipient of the Sabercat award.  When not playing Football, Bryson loves to snowboard, go wake boarding, travel and kick it with friends and family.

When asked what about goals for the late stretch of the season, the Sabercat simply answered, “winning playoff games”.
